this heater is great! infrared gets right through cold clothes to warm me up fast when i come inside. a full month of running it used about 33 therms of gas. the 'thermostat' knob is a bit crude, and seems to regulate the heat output in steps, and not very precisely, but i just leave it cranked up on high so this is fine for me. no smell or offgassing when first lit. simple install, with one minor problem: there is a selector valve on the back of the heater, to switch between natural gas and propane input. the valve has a metal cup-shaped cover with instructions to leave installed after selecting gas type. the problem is, the cover sticks out too far from the back of the heater, and it will not sit flat on the wall using the included mounting hardware as directed. i left the cover off, and the heater hangs straight, and the selector valve knob does not seem to be in any danger nor is it close to bumping the wall.
